Its a topsy turvy never ending cycle of pain and stress with little hope for improvement in any sense if the word. I was reading a book I bought in the gift shop of the hospital on one of the more painful nights I have had recently when I discovered gibberish can actually effect your life...
I bought the book because I love to read. Subject mater means very little. Books are my comfort zone. I push people away. I get stressed out and lash out for no reason but books.... they are always there... Even if you throw it across the room busting the binding and allowing pages to fly everywhere you can always pick it up re order the pages and start over...
Books will never get fed up with your crap and disappear... Once you buy one its there with you for as long as you will have it...
This particular book is about stress relief techniques and the power of spirituality....
I know.... I know... -cough-"bullshit" -cough- ahem...
But it was the first book I saw that was thick enough to quench my appetite and I needed the comfort of the book smell...
I needed to slip away from everything and fall into the words...
I needed the weight of the hard backing in my hands...
The crisp new paper feel between my fingers...
What?!?! Im not a freak! Its much more healthy to crave books when stressed than to crave food.....
I was most of the way through this book when I came to a chapter called "Try Something Different."
I paused at the page for a few moments...
Knowing that what ever was beyond this page was either seemingly insane or quite simply gibberish....
I turned the page to find....
Don't be depressed, its hurting you more than you know.
Want to try something DIFFERENT?
Meditation is extremely easy ,just do the following as taught by
'param pujya ASARAMJI bapu';
1. Chant OM (OM as in HOME but without the 'H') repeatedly, forget everything just do it!
Doing this for 5-10 mins will give a sense of power within you!
2. For a stronger and faster response chant 'hari om'(hari as in HURRY & om as in HOME without the 'H') do this repeatedly and a point will come where you will feel like just closing your eyes. Do that. At this point increase the number of O in om like HARI OOOM. HARI OOOOOOOOM and so on.
3. Chant VEDIC MANTRA then remain silent (no thinking, fidgeting, moving,etc...) for the amount of time taken to chant this one mantra.this looks simple but it will help remove all weakness from you.Now I know that meditation is helpful to those who so believe.
I am not in any way trying to impress upon anyones beliefs.
To me, however, it is....
Well...
Laughable... At best...
And thats what I did...
I did the chanting...
And I laughed...
It made me feel better.
So I guess in some ways it may have helped... Although not in the "normal" way.
If you have no problem laughing at yourself, meditate.
It relieves stress.
